Cobolt Tango 1535 nm

pulsed lasers from cobolt

Cobolt TangoTM is a compact, passively Q-switched diode-pumped solid-state laser emitting pulsed radiation at the eye-safe wavelength 1535 nm. The laser operates in single longitudinal mode and emits a high quality TEM00 beam with stable characteristics over a wide range of operating conditions. The laser is designed and manufactured to ensure a high level of reliability in rough environments.

The design is based on proprietary microchip technology with Er:Yb-doped glass as gain medium and Co2+-doped Spinel as saturable absorber. The laser is housed in a hermetically sealed package only 50 x 68 x 21 mm3 for enhanced performance both physically and technically. It is specified to withstand temperatures from -20 to +70 degrees C and a shock tolerance of 80 g at 10 ms impact and at the same time produce excellent mode quality in 3-5ns pulses.

The emission of high peak power pulses, the eye-safe wavelength and the compact hermetically sealed package, together with low power consumption of typically less than 10 W for the entire system, make the Cobolt TangoTM laser ideal for use in various types of demanding range finding, environmental monitoring and surveillance applications.
